Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie has expressed strong support for head coach Nick Sirianni following the team’s Super Bowl LIX victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. Lurie commended Sirianni’s leadership qualities, emphasizing his ability to connect with players and coaches, his authenticity, and his passion for the game. He stated, “Nick has done a phenomenal job… He’s an incredible leader, attention to detail, love of football, incredibly passionate. He’s able to connect with everyone in the organization.”

Despite Sirianni’s contract expiring after the 2025 season, Lurie did not provide specific details about extension discussions but indicated confidence in Sirianni’s future with the team. He remarked, “We never talk about contracts… publicly in 30 years so I’m not going to start now. But he’s great.”

This endorsement comes after a period of scrutiny during the 2023 season when the Eagles experienced a significant downturn, finishing with a 1-6 record after a 10-1 start. Throughout, Lurie maintained his belief in Sirianni’s potential, reportedly viewing him as a coach with the capacity to become an all-time great.

Under Sirianni’s leadership, the Eagles have achieved notable success, including two Super Bowl appearances in three years and a 48-20 overall record, reflecting a .706 winning percentage. Lurie highlighted Sirianni’s growth and self-awareness, noting his ability to self-reflect and improve. “He’s growing. He grows all the time… As connected as he gets as a human being and as genuine, he’s also connected to himself,” Lurie observed.

As the Eagles prepare for the upcoming season, Lurie’s comments suggest a commitment to continuity and stability within the coaching staff, with Sirianni poised to continue his role at the helm.
