As the 2025 NFL Draft draws near, the Tennessee Titans have made a major move that all but confirms their strategy for the first overall pick. The franchise recently canceled a scheduled private workout with Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders a decision that speaks volumes about their draft intentions.

According to reports, the Titans and Sanders’ camp mutually agreed to cancel the workout after a meeting following Colorado’s Pro Day. While this move may appear minor on the surface, insiders and analysts believe it effectively eliminates Sanders from consideration as the top pick and provides the clearest hint yet at the Titans’ preferred choice  Miami quarterback Cam Ward.

Ward, who impressed scouts with his strong arm, mobility, and field vision throughout his senior season and Pro Day appearances, has been a favorite in mock drafts for months. The Titans have already held a private workout with Ward and reportedly came away very impressed. With the canceled meeting with Sanders, it’s becoming increasingly evident that Ward may be the centerpiece of the Titans’ rebuild.

General Manager Mike Borgonzi offered praise for Sanders’ abilities, stating that he threw the ball well during the Pro Day. However, the decision not to continue the evaluation process suggests that the Titans feel they’ve seen enough to make a final decision and that Sanders won’t be their guy.

For fans and analysts, this development narrows the mystery around the No. 1 overall pick. While nothing is official until draft day, the Titans’ actions send a clear message
